growlingcapIt’s Halloween again, that time of year when we all get a little wild and overindulgent, releasing the inner party animal and pretending to be someone else if only for one night. And as the leaves turn in autumn splendor, those nondescript streets now hold eerie possibilities. The veil between this world and the next is said to be thinner tonight… could the next shadow you see be a spook?

Nonsense, you say. Ghosts don’t exist. That rocking chair was caught in a breeze. The wind rushing down that chimney made that mournful cry. That growl was just my roommate in bed with his boyfriend. The booze was playing with my mind. But can you really be sure?

Rugby - Separating the Boys from the Bears

rugbycapSo, you’ve probably heard that golf is returning to the Olympics. Yeah, I thought it was pretty boring too. But much more exciting and garnering a lot less attention is the fact that rugby is also returning to the Olympics in 2016. I mean, rugby! Okay, so not everyone is as crazy about rugby as I am, but rugby means ruggers. And that means rugby legs and rugby butts all over the Olympic coverage in Rio. Forget the swimmers and gymnasts, ruggers are walking wet dreams.

So I’m a little biased. I’m a rugger. And while I’m no Ben Cohen or Ian Roberts or any of the other hundreds of drool-worthy ruggers around the world, I am a proud gay rugger.

lazy09capSummertime.  For many, this time of year conjures up images of beaches, parks and pool parties.  For us, in the gay community, summer is also pride season.  And for a good number of us in the Bear community, summer reaches its high point at LAZY BEAR WEEKEND!

Once a year, for five days in the summer, thousands of bears from all over the world converge upon the tiny forest town of Guerneville in Northern California, by the Russian River.  During these five eventful days attendees engage in an assortment of activities, not the least of which include pool parties, dance parties, bonfires and of course, copious amounts of liquor & spirits!
