What are your names?: Efrain and Alex.

Where did you grow up?: (Efrain) I grew up in Puerto Rico, spent my early youth there, then moved to Massachusetts. By around High School I moved back to Puerto Rico, and now I somehow ended up in North Carolina.  (Alex) I was born in West Virginia and grew up in North Carolina.

Do you have roots there or was it a "get out of Dodge" type situation?: (Efrain) I guess I have roots in all three places I have lived in. (Alex) Nah, my family is from all over (Puerto Rico, Mississippi) and they just moved around a lot.

Have you changed a lot since you've been together?: (Efrain) I’ve learn to communicate a hell of a lot better and enjoy the simple things in life. (Alex) I’ve grown up a lot since I’ve been with E.

What part of North Carolina are you guys in?: Chapel Hill.

Do you live together?: Yes.

Do you rent or own?: Rent, but will probably be buying our first home very soon.

How old are you guys?: (Efrain) 32, (Alex) 29.

What's your ethnic background?: (Efrain) Puerto Rican, which basically means I got a little bit of everything in me.  (Alex) Puerto Rican and white.

What do you do for a living?: We both work in IT.

What do you guys do for fun?: Hosting gaming nights at our house, watching really bad horror movies, hanging out with our friends, going out to dinner, spending time with family (our respective families are fun to be with).

Where did you meet?: Alex wrote me on Bear411. Funny enough, we realized we lived in the same apartment complex!  We started hanging out on a “Just friends”-basis because Alex had a partner. Then a while later Alex became single and we decided to give it a go at something more serious.

Are you guys monogamous?: We don’t consider ourselves strictly monogamous, however, we don’t do the hookup thing.

What's the secret to a good relationship?: Communication, patience, and a willingness to look inside your own self to find faults that need changing for the greater good.

What's your partner's best feature?: (Efrain) I think Alex’s best physical features are his legs and face. Non-physical…would be his huge heart. (Alex) His face and his big arms.  As far as personality, its how hard he works to get where he is, and his soft side hidden by a hard exterior.

Do you guys have any separate interests/activities?: (Efrain) I like to play and record my own music. I also read (books, comics, graphic novels) way more than he does. Alex is a huge Cosplayer (dress up in costumes for conventions) whereas I am too shy to do that. Although he did make me cosplay once (that’s the pic I am in a shinsengumi outfit).  (Alex) Fighting Games are a huge thing I do that he doesn’t partake in, dancing at goth clubs, and creating art both 3D and 2D. (also some furry art). I have a major hard on for Orcs.

Do you hang out with cubs and bears? You go to bear events?: We have a few bear and cub friends but most of them live far away. We do go to bear events, though not religiously. We’ve been to Bear Hunt, Bear Bust and Club Cub. But generally we love the bear community and try to participate whenever our conflicting schedules allow.

You guys are self-proclaimed geeks. I think we need a geek bear convention. Yeah?: We totally need a geek bear convention, and funny enough I think Bear Hunt 2010 will be that (I am not getting paid to say this, hehe). But also, we would just like to see more geeky activities being part of normal bear runs, such as a game room for video/board/card games type of stuff. (Kurt is jumping up and down)

So…Mac or PC?: PC, mostly cause they are easier to fix and upgrade.

What's your biggest gaming obsession?: (Efrain) Final Fantasy! (Alex) Street Fighter, Tekken, Blaz Blue, World of Warcraft.

In a fandom list, what show/movie/game/band/comic/etc leads your top ten list?: Efrain: Buffy (show), Clueless/Lost Boys (movie), Final Fantasy X (Game), Iron Maiden (band), The Walking Dead (Comic).  (Kurt is shambling back and forth)
Alex: Neon Genesis Evangelion (show), Kill Bill (movie), Malice Mizer (Band), Castlevania (game), Blade of the Immortal (comic). (Kurt is puttin on his yellow leather jump suit)

Describe a perfect Saturday night.: Going out for sushi with some buds and then coming over to our place (or one of theirs) to watch bad movies and getting into a big snuggle puddle with them on the couch.

Do you guys argue? How do you resolve differences?: We are habitual arguers, although usually for silly, unimportant things. We’ll usually resolve our big issues or discuss and deconstruct the root cause of the problem and tackle it head on.  In other words, it’s rarely over something serious.

Are you out to your families? The world?: We are totally out to everyone.

Where do you see yourselves in ten years?: Hopefully legally married, living in a “Castle Greyskull”- style fortress with two dogs, two cats, two cockatiels and maybe our own private army of scantily-clad orcs. (Kurt is grinning like an orc)
