What's your name?: Mike. But I’m usually CntryWoof online.

Where did you grow up?: I was born in Houston, Texas, but I grew up in the Dallas area…in Richardson.

What was it like growing up there?: It was very big city - middle class America.  Just me, Mom, Dad, and one brother. I went to school, ate my vegetables and went to church on Sunday.

Were you a popular kid?: I wouldn’t say popular.  I was a choir and drama club chubby geek.

What did you want to be when you grew up?: I wanted to be an actor or singer.

Do you plan on settling down there?: I would like to say that I plan to be here for good, but I have learned how easily that can change.  After leaving Texas in 1994 and moving here to San Diego, I have had many moves.  I moved to Nashville, TN in 2000.  One year later I spent seven months in Orlando and then moved back to Nashville for five years.  I then moved back to Dallas and finally ended up back here almost two years ago.  I love it here…but if I met the right guy I would consider another move.

How old are you?: Forty-one.

What's your astrological sign?: Taurus.

What's your ethnic background?: I’m a white boy from Texas…Scottish/German/Irish.

What do you do to pay the bills?: I am currently a Space Planner for PETCO.

What kind of hobbies do you have?: I have a great love for music. I am a singer and songwriter with an emphasis on singer/songwriter, country, and acoustic formats.  I have a CD from 2005 on cdbaby.com under the stage name Mike Hansen called “Shine On.”  I currently am trying to motivate myself to pick up my guitar again and delve back into this hobby.  I am also currently co-producing the 619 Bearcast.  You can find and listen to the podcast at 619bearcast.com and on iTunes.  I also enjoy camping, hiking, skiing, travel, movies, them mountains, reading and hot sweaty dancing with the bears!

Do you have a wild side? Or are you pretty low key?: I definitely can go from mild to wild.  I love active, outdoor activities and adventure, but I also love quiet nights at home cuddling up and watching a great movie.

What are you passionate about?: I’m passionate about happiness.  I wake up each morning with a choice to make - I can be weighed down with baggage and problems that we all face or I can choose to look at the glass half full and be happy.  I try to choose happiness as much as possible!

Do you have expensive hobbies?: Making a CD can definitely be expensive.  I will make another one day as soon as I get enough material written and the money saved to record.

Are you single?: Yes. But hoping 2010 will change all that.

Describe your ideal man.: My ideal man is one that really knows how to take it easy and just go with the flow.  He is passionate about life but doesn’t let the daily drama that unfolds around him affect his mood and life.  He get’s along with most people and loves being social.  He is an amazing kisser and somewhat of a romantic.  He can also go from mild to wild in life as well as the bedroom.  Physically I tend to like average to stocky builds with dark hair and eyes although I have been known to stray from those characteristics depending on the guy. I like short and tall. But I have to say, a hot little Hispanic fireplug bearcub will always get my attention!

What's a deal breaker on a first date?: A U-Haul.

Do you hang out with cubs and bears? You go to bear events?: I would say the majority of my friends currently are bears and cubs or those who hang with bears and cubs.  I do enjoy a fun bear event from time to time.

What's the naughtiest thing you've ever done in public?: Hmmmm, let’s just say it was at Southern Decadence.

Are you an athlete?: I have played softball in the past, but have not played in a few years.  I do enjoy being athletic and hope to get active in more outdoor activities in the coming year.

What's your best feature?: I have been told my eyes and my smile.

What's your long-term goal?: To fall in love, to travel more, and to always be happy.

Freestylin: I really am just your average Bear/Cub. We were talking on the podcast the other day about people who you find it hard to fit into a category. (Bear, Cub, Otter, Wolf, Platypus…etc) I suppose if I had to put myself into one it would be Bear. But I’ll let people decide for themselves.  I’m just a nice guy trying to make my way in this world.  I would love to have someone be my partner in crime and share this adventure.  I really hope to make everything I do more of an adventure in the coming years.  I want to travel more and experience new things.  Another one of my favorite quotes is from The Shawshank Redemption. “Get busy living…or get busy dying!”  Well I believe I am ready to get busy living.
